Life with Diabetes

Diabetes, though rampant in society today, is still a disease that not too many really know about. It can have debilitating effects on people. I have a friend who lost part of his foot due to diabetes, and most of his eyesight as well.
Both my grandmothers, both my parents, my sister, and my niece have all been diagnosed with diabetes (as well as me). My grandmothers have passed away, one of complications due to diabetes. My parents have both passed on as well.
My mother, although experiencing 6 heart attacks and an angioplasty operation, oddly, died of cancer of the pancreas and liver, which spread throughout her body in just a few short months.
Her acquiring cancer of the pancreas makes me wonder if maybe since her pancreas had atrophied from lack of use, it had maybe changed the cells enough to cause it.
While my parents, sister and niece's diabetes progressed to the point (in a steady flow) where they were forced to use insulin (I don't know about my grandmothers, but I suppose at that time there were no insulin shots to speak of for the general public), mine has regressed since I have been giving myself Reiki treatments.
I began my western medicine treatment by taking 4 Metformin pills a day. With the help of God/dess and the wonderful Universal Life Force Energy of Reiki, I have brought my dosage down from 4 a day to 1 a day, and have remained steadily at that point for a few years now. I thank God/dess for all the help.
Instead of shoving insulin into my veins and letting my pancreas atrophy, a mixture of the above allows my pancreas to work on its own, to produce the required amount of insulin itself. I feel great!

I was diognosed with type2 diabetes in 2004 and since then i have used my diet to control it. hopefully i can for a few more years. It is rampant in my family and my grandmother was over 500lbs, she killed herself with food. checking bloodsugars everyday is important and you should always follow dr.s orders....TG

Yes, mine is type 2 also, and my parents, sis, and niece as well. I don't know about my grandmothers, but I gather. Yes, my doctor and I keep good tabs on my health. He makes me go for blood tests every couple of months or so too, fasting glucose tolerance tests, among other things, at a lab.
He is very thorough.
